As a youngster, I was almost killed in a terrorist attack while in Rome with my grandfather who was wounded by an Islamist terrorist. Right then, I decided my life would be about protecting the innocent. After a hitch in the Navy, I became a Sheriff’s Deputy and have spent 18 years seeing both the best and worst in people — and dealing with society’s problems, especially the mental health crisis.
Throughout my career, I have worked at our family Orchard and Cider Mill, and recently started a venue venture with my wife, called Birchview Outdoor Wedding and Event Center. We know first hand how our Governor devastated small businesses, and how inflation and supply chain issues caused by our out of control Federal Government are hurting everyone.
As your State Representative, I have worked on those problems — and also worked to stop bad ideas that would make those problems worse, especially when it comes to criminal justice.
I am working to make Michigan a place where our kids have opportunity, and the choice to stay here and be successful.
We can do it, if we focus on the things that really matter.
